1. Create an AI Scribe draft
1
Sign in at app.chartnote.com.
2
On Home, under AI Scribe, click Start a visit. The draft is saved right away.
2. Choose your settings
The draft opens on the Overview tab. More options are on the Settings and Attachments tabs.- Recording Mode / Microphone: In-Person or Telehealth, and the microphone to use. Telehealth captures screen audio and needs Chrome.
- Patient / Label and Template. A new draft remembers your template and languages, but not the patient.
- Context Notes: earlier finished notes for the same patient.
- Attachments (PDF).
- Helpful information: details not said in the visit. Type @ to insert a snippet.
- Voice language (including Automatic), Note language and Note length.
- Setting (including Post-operative), Visit type and Billing codes (CPT / ICD-10).
- Tags.
3. Record
1
Click the large round blue microphone button to start recording. Finish later and Generate Note appear below it.
2
Pause whenever you need to. Audio syncs to the cloud after each pause.
3
You can discard a single recording without losing the others.
4. Generate the note, or finish later
- Generate Note: writes the note from everything recorded.
- Finish later: processes Highlights now (“Your highlights will be ready shortly”) and keeps the note as a draft. Resume on any device later. Highlights are free.
Credits
Each encounter uses 1 credit, charged the first time the note is generated. If generation fails, the retry on the same encounter is free.Troubleshooting
”No speech was detected in one of your recordings…”
This appears only when none of your recordings has speech. A silent segment alongside one with speech is fine. See Why Does My Note Say “No Audio Detected”?.You leave while recording.
Chartnote asks you to Upload and leave or Continue recording.Related articles
