In Chartnote 3.0, drafts and recordings are saved to the cloud, so you can finish a note on any device. Who this is for: Everyone · Plans: All plans · Where: Web (app.chartnote.com), mobile app
This replaces “In Progress” notes, which were saved only in the browser where you started them.

What changed in Chartnote 3.0

  • Creating a note saves a draft on our servers right away (“Draft saved”).
  • The moment you stop recording, it’s saved and available on any device you sign in to.
  • Audio syncs automatically after each pause.

Use Finish Later

1

While recording, click Finish later (tap it in the mobile app).

2

Chartnote processes the Highlights now: "Your highlights will be ready shortly."

3

The card shows Highlight Ready. The note stays a draft.

4

Later, on any device, open the draft to resume recording, or click Generate Note to write the note from everything recorded.

Highlights from several recordings are combined. Highlights are for you only and aren’t used to write the note. They’re free.

Before Nov 1, 2026

Drafts and in-progress recordings from the current Chartnote don’t move to Chartnote 3.0 automatically. Open each one and click Generate Note before Saturday, Oct 31. Completed notes move automatically. Offline recordings in the mobile app don’t carry over, so process them too.

Deleting a draft

Deleted drafts go to the Trash, where you can restore them for 30 days. Drafts can’t be archived or shared. Last reviewed: October 2026 · Applies to Chartnote 3.0
