Choose or change how you get multi-factor authentication (MFA) codes: text message (SMS), email code or an authenticator app. Who this is for: People who sign in with email and password · Plans: All plans · Where: Web (app.chartnote.com)
If you sign in with Google, Chartnote doesn’t manage your MFA. Settings shows that your identity provider manages it, so use your Google account settings instead.

Change your MFA method

1

Sign in at app.chartnote.com.

2

Click your avatar in the bottom-left corner to open the account menu.

3

Open Settings → Account & Security.

4

Set up the method first. For Text message (SMS), enter your mobile number under Add or Change Phone Number and click Validate phone. For Authenticator app, go to Enable Authenticator App, click Generate QR, scan the code with your app, and enter the 6-digit code.

5

In the Multi-Factor Authentication setup card, select Text message (SMS), Authenticator app or Email code.

6

Click Save in that card.

Other options

  • Add or Change Phone Number: update the number used for SMS codes.
  • Generate QR (in Enable Authenticator App): set up the authenticator app again, for example on a new phone.
Email codes aren’t offered when you first sign up. Once you’ve created your account and signed in, you can choose Email code here.
Want to stop using MFA instead? See Turn off multi-factor authentication (MFA).
