# Record patient visits offline in the mobile app

> Record patient visits offline in the Chartnote mobile app with Use Offline, then sign in again when you're back online to process each recording into a note.

Record a visit without an internet connection and turn it into a note when you're back online.

>
> Offline recordings made in the current mobile app do not carry over to Chartnote 3.0. Process every offline recording into a note before Nov 1, 2026.

## Process your offline recordings before Nov 1

**1. Open the Chartnote app while connected to the internet.**

**2. Go to **Offline Recordings**.**

**3. Open each recording, choose AI Scribe or Voice Chart, pick a template and patient or label, and process the recording.**

**4. Check that each note appears in your notes list.**

## Record offline in Chartnote 3.0

**1. On the sign-in screen, tap **Use Offline**.**

**2. In **Offline Recordings**, tap **New recording**.**

**3. Enter a recording name and tap **Ok**.**

**4. Tap the microphone to start recording. Tap it again to stop, then tap **Finish**.**

**5. When you have internet access, sign in. The saved recording appears on the main page, where you can process the recording into a Voice Chart or AI Scribe note.**

>
> Recording works offline, but processing needs an internet connection. Recordings made while you're signed out stay on your phone until you sign in to add them to your account.

>
> Don't delete the app while you have unprocessed offline recordings. They're stored only on your phone.
