# Upgrade your Chartnote plan

> Upgrade your Chartnote plan, such as Pro to Max, or move to a team plan from Billing & Plans. Review the new price and amount due today before you confirm.

Move to a higher plan, or to a team plan, from Billing & Plans.

**Who this is for:** Solo users · **Plans:** Basic, Pro, Max · **Where:** Web (app.chartnote.com)

## Upgrade an individual plan

On Basic, Billing & Plans shows **Choose your plan**: click **Checkout with Card!** on Pro or Max. See [Start a paid Chartnote subscription](https://docs.chartnote.com/billing-and-plans/subscribe-to-a-paid-plan.md). If you already pay for a plan, follow these steps.

**1. Click your avatar in the bottom-left corner to open the account menu.**

**2. Open **Settings** → **Billing & Plans**.**

**3. Under **Compare Plans**, choose **Monthly** or **Yearly** to see prices.**

**4. If you already pay for a plan: click **Update plan** on the plan card you want.**

**5. On **Update your subscription**, check that the new plan is selected (click **Select** if it isn't), then click **Continue**.**

**6. On **Confirm your updates**, check the plan, the recurring price and start date, the amount due today (any positive balance is applied), and the payment method. Prices and dates depend on your account.**

**7. Click **Confirm**. To change something first, click **Go back**.**

**8. Click **Return to Chartnote**.**

> [!TIP]
>
> You can also change plans from **Manage subscription** → **Update subscription**.

Upgrades typically charge the difference and apply any available credit. Your next invoice reflects the new plan.

## Move to a team plan

If you choose a Team plan from your personal account, Chartnote opens **Create team**. See [Create a Chartnote team and invite members](https://docs.chartnote.com/teams-and-administration/create-a-team-and-invite-people.md).

> [!NOTE]
>
> The 14-day free trial is for first-time subscribers only, so you can't start a second one.

## Troubleshooting

### I upgraded from Basic and my credits look lower than expected.

Please contact Chartnote Support through the in-app support chat or by [submitting a ticket](https://help.chartnote.com/portal/en/kb/articles/need-assistance-submit-a-ticket) and we'll take a look.
