# Apply a coupon or promo code

> Apply a Chartnote coupon or promo code at checkout: click Add promotion code, enter your discount code, and check the new total before you confirm your plan.

Apply a promotion code when you check out for a paid plan.

**Who this is for:** Solo users · **Plans:** Pro, Max · **Where:** Web (app.chartnote.com)

## Apply your code at checkout

**1. Sign in at [app.chartnote.com](https://app.chartnote.com) and open **Settings** → **Billing & Plans**.**

**2. Under **Choose your plan**, choose **Monthly** or **Yearly** and click **Checkout with Card!** on the plan you want.**

**3. On the checkout page, click **Add promotion code** under Subtotal.**

**4. Enter your code and click **Apply**. Check that the discount shows in your total.**

**5. Enter your card details and click **Subscribe**.**

> Credit purchases have the same **Add promotion code** button on the **Pay Chartnote** page.

## Troubleshooting

### My code isn't accepted.

Check that it's typed exactly and hasn't expired. If it still fails, contact Chartnote Support through the in-app support chat or by [submitting a ticket](https://help.chartnote.com/portal/en/kb/articles/need-assistance-submit-a-ticket).
