# Buy AI credits and Copilot tokens

> Buy AI credits or Copilot tokens from Settings when your monthly allowance is low. Purchased credits are available right away, never expire, and are used last.

Add credits for AI notes, or tokens for Copilot, to your wallet when your monthly allowance runs low.

**Who this is for:** Solo users and team Admins · **Plans:** Basic, Pro, Max; teams with credits (not Team Max) · **Where:** Web (app.chartnote.com)

## Buy credits

**1. Sign in at [app.chartnote.com](https://app.chartnote.com).**

**2. Click your avatar in the bottom-left corner to open the account menu.**

**3. Open **Settings** → **AI Credits** (under **Payments & Purchases**). You can also click **Buy credits** in the account menu.**

**4. Click **Add credits to your wallet**.**

**5. In **AI Credit Wallet**, choose a pack (70 credits for \\$35, 350 for \\$175, 700 for \\$350 or 1,400 for \\$700) or **Custom** (\\\$0.50 per credit), then click **Add Credits**.**

**6. On the **Pay Chartnote** page, pay with Apple Pay, Link, card, bank or Klarna, and click **Pay**. To use a promotion code, click **Add promotion code** under Subtotal first.**

Your purchase appears on the **Transactions** tab.

## Buy Copilot tokens

**1. Open **Settings** → **Copilot Tokens**.**

**2. Click **Add tokens to your wallet** and complete the payment.**

## How purchased credits are used

* Purchased credits are available right away. They don't wait for the 1st of the month.
* They never expire.
* Your plan's monthly credits are used first, then your purchased credits.
* One credit covers one encounter. If a note fails to generate, the retry on the same encounter is free.

> [!NOTE]
>
> On Team Max, credits and tokens show as "unlimited", so there's no option to add credits. In a team, AI Credits and Copilot Tokens are managed by Admins.

## Troubleshooting

### I see an "Out of Credits" window.

Open **Settings** → **AI Credits** to add credits. Highlights (Finish Later) and plain notes are free.

### My credits aren't showing after I paid.

Check the **Transactions** tab in **AI Credits**. If the purchase isn't there, contact Chartnote Support through the in-app support chat or by [submitting a ticket](https://help.chartnote.com/portal/en/kb/articles/need-assistance-submit-a-ticket).
