# Delete your Chartnote account

> Delete your Chartnote account from Settings, then Account & Security. Before you start, download your notes or request a bulk export, and cancel any subscription.

Permanently delete your account and its notes.

> Deleting your account is permanent. You lose access to all your notes and can't sign in with this account again.

## Before you delete

* Download any notes you need. You can download notes one at a time. To export all your notes at once, email [help@chartnote.com](mailto:help@chartnote.com) to request a bulk export before you delete your account. Bulk export isn't self-service.
* Cancel any subscription or trial first. Deleting your account doesn't cancel it. Use **Billing & Plans**, or the App Store if you subscribed there.
* Deleting your account removes all your notes, including notes in Trash and Archive.

## Delete your account

**1. Sign in at [app.chartnote.com](https://app.chartnote.com).**

**2. Click your avatar in the bottom-left corner to open the account menu.**

**3. Open **Settings** → **Account & Security**.**

**4. In the **Delete Account** card, click **Delete**.**

**5. Read the warning, type DELETE in the text box, and click **Delete**. Your account is deactivated and its data is deleted.**

These steps also work if you sign in with Google.

You can also delete your account from the mobile app.
